TAKE THE PLEDGE FOR MAL: Don’t drink & drive. 

By Peter Lance March 17th, 2016. On St. Patrick’s Day volunteers for Vow4Mal, the foundation set up to stop drunk driving, particularly among young people, were out in full force in downtown Santa Barbara with their ongoing “Provide A Ride” campaign — offering free Uber vouchers for anyone who has been out partying and takes the pledge not to drink and drive.

Their results have been startling. In  2015 a year after the foundation was created, there was a 24% decrease in DUI traffic accidents compared to the year before and a 43% drop since 2013.
