Mike Flynn as National Security Advisor; a man whose son was\u00a0<a title=\"nYT\" href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2016\/12\/06\/us\/politics\/michael-flynn-son-trump.html\"><strong>fired\u00a0Tuesday<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0from the transition team after he&#8217;d pushed the fake news &#8220;Pizzagate&#8221; story that led to a shooting at a DC restaurant, there are epic conflict-of-interest questions regarding Mr. Trump&#8217;s personal finances.<\/p>\n<p>Those conflict issues fly in the face of his &#8220;drain the swamp&#8221; campaign promises and they&#8217;ve already been manifested in his &#8220;off-the-books&#8221; meetings or conversations with government and corporate officials from\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/fortune.com\/2016\/12\/05\/ivanka-trump-donald-trump-japan-shinzo-abe\/\"><strong>Japan<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2016\/11\/20\/us\/politics\/donald-trump-pauses-transition-work-to-meet-with-indian-business-partners.html\"><strong>India<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/politics\/first-read\/why-trump-s-call-philippine-president-rodrigo-duterte-matters-n691971\"><strong>The Philippines<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2016\/12\/06\/us\/politics\/bob-dole-taiwan-lobby-trump.html\">Taiwan<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Then there are the potential influence-buying moves by foreign governments looking to curry favor by booking rooms and events at The Old Post Office, Mr. Trump&#8217;s latest\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.trumphotels.com\/washington-dc\/old-post-office-transformation\"><strong>luxury hotel<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0down the street from the White House. In fact, the 60 year $180 million dollar Post Office lease itself, will become\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.politico.com\/story\/2016\/11\/democrats-trump-post-office-232030\"><strong>illegal<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0the moment he takes the oath of office.<\/p>\n<p>On December 1st,<strong>\u00a0Nadja Popovic<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Jan Diehm<\/strong>\u00a0of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/us-news\/ng-interactive\/2016\/dec\/01\/donald-trump-business-interests-conflicts\"><strong>The Guardian<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0did a piece noting how Trump might \u00a0keep the hotel in his family by appointing a new head of the General Services Administration (GSA) who could re-negotiate the deal, which currently bars &#8220;elected officials&#8221; of the U.S. government from benefiting from the Post Office lease in any way.<\/p>\n<p>The Guardian story also focuses on how the National Labor Relations Board, which is currently investigating \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.culinaryunion226.org\/news\/press\/body\/2016-11-03-NLRB-decision-and-order-re-TRUMP.pdf\"><strong>unfair labor practices<\/strong>\u00a0<\/a>at the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas might knuckle under once Trump fills the two vacant seats on the NLRB.<\/p>\n<p>And then there&#8217;s the current Department of Justice action against\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/business\/2016\/sep\/16\/deutsche-bank-14bn-dollar-fine-doj-q-and-a\"><strong>Deutsche Bank<\/strong><\/a>, the Trump Organization&#8217;s &#8220;lender of choice&#8221; which has been asked to pay more than $14 billion for its role in the 2008 financial meltdown by selling toxic mortgage-backed securities.<\/p>\n<p>The German lender has been trying to negotiate down its fine to $2-3 billion. So query\u00a0whether Sen. Jeff Sessions, Mr. Trump&#8217;s pick for Attorney General, would intervene to water down that deal.<\/p>\n<p>All of this points to the slippery tip of a very deep iceberg and it&#8217;s our intent with this website to act as a clearing house for all enterprise journalists who will aggressively cover the 45th President.<\/p>\n<p>After all, he&#8217;s unlikely to get any serious oversight by the House and Senate committees controlled by his own party or the various Inspectors General of the many executive branch agencies that he&#8217;ll staff.
