In April, Morua pleaded guilty to hitting Dies with his car and then fleeing the scene. At the end of May, a judge sentenced Morua to 20 years in state prison.<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ksby.com\/news\/congresswoman-confirms-dept-of-justice-inquiry\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright  wp-image-4242\" title=\"Screen Shot 2014-06-12 at 9.17.23 AM\" src=\"http:\/\/peterlance.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Screen-Shot-2014-06-12-at-9.17.23-AM.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"455\" height=\"276\" srcset=\"https:\/\/peterlance.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Screen-Shot-2014-06-12-at-9.17.23-AM.png 632w, https:\/\/peterlance.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Screen-Shot-2014-06-12-at-9.17.23-AM-300x181.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 455px) 100vw, 455px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Meagher says in the statement that the Department of Justice is adhering to standard practice, following up on any number of inquiries they receive.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Our office welcomes the D.O.J.&#8217;s inquiry, which will enable the community to move past the false allegations asserted in tabloid media coverage,&#8221; Meagher said.<\/p>\n<p>Some local media outlets, as well as Fox News, have reported that members of Rep.
