Former Manhattan prosecutor and Judge Leslie Crocker Snyder was appointed Special District Attorney to investigate circumstances surrounding the dismissal of murder charges against ex-FBI Supervisory Special Agent R. Lindley DeVecchio in November, 2007. She issued a report concluding that the alliance between DeVecchio and Mafia hitman Greg "The Killing Machine" Scarpa Sr. exposed "a dramatic picture of corruption" that "warrent(ed) further investigation."
